How to play

Move the paddle with the left/right arrow keys (or A/D), or drag your mouse/finger across the board. Press Space, click, or tap to launch the ball. Bounce the ball with your paddle to break the bricks above; where the ball hits the paddle changes the angle it bounces off at. Clear every brick to win. You have three lives, if the ball falls past your paddle you lose one. Lose all three and it's game over!

Bounce the ball with your paddle and smash every brick. A fast-paced arcade classic from 1976.

Breakout was created by Atari in 1976 and, alongside Pong, helped kick off the golden age of arcade games. It later inspired countless clones and variations, most famously Arkanoid.
